The Graphic Tee
I was recently in a very cool store in the Wynwood section of Miami called Lulu Laboratorium and was instantly attracted to this very cute, very different kind of graphic tee. The designers cut the tee down the middle of the front and back of the top, and added some chains to connect it back together. The brand is Trendy & Tipsy but looking on their website, I did not find this style, which may mean it's exclusive to the store. Unfortunately, the store does not have a website, so if you're looking for the top you may need to call the store directly or visit them in person.
If you ever shopped in my boutique anytime between 2012 to 2017, you would have seen some version of a graphic tee, sweater or sweatshirt. I loved them then, and I love them now.
The very obvious choice is to pair a graphic tee back to a pair of jeans. I love the vintage inspired options at Madeworn Rock. Their graphic tees are perfectly constructed, distressed and hand sanded to replicate a well worn vintage tee. They have a ton options to choose from.
I also love the graphic tee under a blazer. Ganni has some cool options if you want a low-key, quality tee that won't break the bank.
The not so conventional way to wear a graphic tee is pairing it back to a printed, long skirt. This is a fun and unexpected look that lets people know you don't take yourself too seriously. If you read my last blog post on the 5 Top Spring/Summer 2023 trends, long skirts are very much trending at the moment.
I love this look posted by @willworkforfashion_ pairing a graphic tee back to the long denim skirt- also mentioned in my previous blog. Top it with a neutral color, leather, moto jacket for a soft and feminine look.
You don't have to limit yourself to tee shirts. Sweatshirts are just as cool and I really love the styles from Anine Bing. Their clothing is amazing quality, I've had some of their sweatshirts for YEARS and they hold up really well. I love the look of a tee shirt or sweat shirt paired back to a bomber jacket, jeans and a cool boot for a great transitional Spring look. This bomber jacket, also from Anine Bing, and has a bright orange lining that pops. The loose denim jean is a must, and a mid heel, pointed toe bootie completes the look perfectly.
Here's another way to (gently) mix prints for summer with a great pair of striped pants and chunky, footbed sandal.
Whatever your preference, there's a tee shirt out there to express yourself. Whether you're a big fan of a band, like a particular print or logo, or you just want to share a positive message, try the look and see if it fits your style.
