The Footbed Sandal Edit

I was standing in line at the grocery in Miami recently, doing what most people do while waiting to check out, observing the fashionably dressed women ahead of me in the checkout line. On this particular day I noticed a woman wearing the coolest Birkenstock sandals I have yet to see. I made a note to myself to do an internet search and find them.

Here is what they looked like.

They are in fact Birkenstock, designed by Manolo Blahnik.

I'm all about comfort, and with this style you can be both comfortable and chic. And while your basic Birkenstock is perfectly fine to wear for comfort's sake, why not up your footbed sandal game with an updated version? Luckily there are plenty of styles to choose from.

Here are a few I found that check the box on all fronts.

I love both of these for their simplicity and style, while also being comfortable. The Jenni Kayne black sandal is great with shorts, cropped denim jeans or a simple long dress for summer. The Emme Parsons sandal fits like a glove while also being minimalistic.

The Loeffler Randal raffia sandal pairs well back to white. The tan Mercedes Castillo tan sandal is sleek and sophisticated and can be dressed up worn with a black dress or trousers.

Here are a few options to further elevate your footbed sandal game. JW Anderson with the gold bit is over the top in the best way possible. Manolo Blahnik polka dot hair calf sandal is fun and perfect to add some spice to a simple outfit. I love the extra height of the Jil Sander black leather footbed, while being very luxurious. You can't go wrong with the Prada version that includes a rubber outsole for extra comfort.

What's your favorite!?

Best,

Maria
