5 Spring/Summer 2023 Trends
The start of a new season always gets me excited to add new pieces to my wardrobe. February is a great time to start looking for new styles to add for Spring/Summer. I was recently planning my own trip away to the Bahamas, and then to Miami for an extended vacation, and I needed to plan what I will be wearing. Before leaving, I shopped for the best new pieces to add to my existing favorites while getting my double dose of vitamin D. I was pleasantly surprised with all the new and exciting pieces I found to add to my own wardrobe while simultaneously researching styles I will be bringing for upcoming client fittings.
While there are a ton of options to chose from, there are certain trends that come out of fashion shows that end up being the new and exciting styles that will add a bit more fun to your wardrobe. Thinking in terms of trends doesn't mean you have to buy something you won't wear. But learning about current trends allows you the opportunity to start thinking about what you like and what new pieces may fit your personal style and lifestyle. Here are a few of my favorite trends for Spring/Summer 2023 with some real life interpretations of each trend that are fun and wearable.
Cargo Pants
Cargo pants are making a huge comeback and they were all over the runway for SS2023. High waisted or low slung, this style is offered in options from very baggy to slim fit and in an array of colors and materials. Be it denim, khaki or dressing it up in satin, the cargo pant trend is a fun new way to wear pants.
Maxi Skirts
I love the option of a great maxi skirt, worn either casual or dressed up. A floor grazing skirt with a great combat boot or loafers for day is a great option if you want an updated look. Pair it with a bomber jacket or sweater to get you through the Spring weather in style. The summer maxi skirt works great with a sandal too, and my personal favorite at the moment is the maxi in denim.
Sheer
Sheer garments are a great option for evening worn under a blazer while giving just a hint of what's underneath. The look need not be garish, instead a hint of skin goes a long way in creating the illusion of bare. Maybe bearing it all under a sliver of shear fabric makes you feel too exposed, then consider the options below for a more modest and sensible approach.
Bright Green
Color is coming in strong for SS2023. I love the bright green option for both dressy and casual. If you can't commit to a head-to-toe look, opt for a pop of color in a shoe or handbag.
Animal Print
Animal print isn't just for Fall/Winter. I love the options for day/night from, long maxi dresses to pants. Leopard, python and zebra add an element of fun to this season's style and gets you away from playing it too safe with basics.
