Exploring the Charms of Sag Harbor: A Perfect Summer Getaway

Baron’s Cove, Sag Harbor

The Hamptons epitomize summer for me. Growing up visiting this beautiful stretch of Long Island has etched it deeply into my vacation-loving heart. Over the past 12 years, my husband and I have explored various parts of the Hamptons, from Quogue to Montauk, each town offering its unique charm. Last week, we decided to stay in Sag Harbor. This charming town brims with character, blending its rich whaling history with a laid-back atmosphere, making it a truly special destination. I’m sharing a few favorites from our recent trip, hoping it inspires you to visit this beautiful town.

Baron’s Cove, Sag Harbor

For our stay we chose Baron’s Cove, a charming 67-room resort just steps from the waterfront. This picturesque location features a beautiful swimming pool, an on-property tennis court, and complimentary bike rentals. The hotel boasts a lively bar and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner at its various dining venues. An upstairs restaurant provides the perfect setting for breakfast and lunch with a view of the marina, while an outdoor deck near the pool is ideal for lunch and happy hour cocktails. The service was exceptional, and every amenity was thoughtfully provided.

Goop, Sag Harbor

On our first day, and after a few hours of lounging poolside, we headed into town located just a short walk from our hotel. The area is dotted with incredible stores offering unique items, including Goop, where you might even run into Gwyneth Paltrow!

Carissa’s Bakery

Carissa’s Bakery is a great spot for delicious baked goods and unique treats. It also features a coffee bar and a variety of grab-and-go items, making it a perfect stop for a quick bite or a leisurely snack.

Tutto Il Giorno, Sag Harbor

Tutto Il Giorno is one of my favorite restaurants in Sag Harbor. The food is exceptional, the ambiance is gorgeous, and it's the perfect place to mingle with celebrities and influencers. One evening, we found ourselves seated right next to Eli Manning and spotted Donna Karan chatting with guests.

Urban Zen, Sag Harbor

Fun fact: Donna Karan and her family own the restaurant. Additionally, there's a stunning boutique called Urban Zen attached to the restaurant, featuring clothing and accessories designed by Donna Karan.

Matriark, Sag Harbor

The next day, after a nice walk along the marina, we went into town for more shopping. I was particularly drawn to Matriark, a concept store brimming with incredible clothing brands, unique jewelry, and stylish handbags.

TWP, Sag Harbor

One of my current favorite brands is TWP, and their beautiful boutique showcases the very best of their collection.

Le Bibloquet, Sag Harbor

I love the restaurant Le Bilboquet in Sag Harbor, perfectly situated right on the water. We headed there for pre-dinner drinks and sipped on delicious cocktails as we watched the sunset and enjoyed some lively people-watching. If you're willing to splurge (their branzino is $96!), dining on the deck is an absolute must. Alternatively, you can enjoy after-dinner drinks at the bar while a live DJ plays fantastic tunes.

Lulu’s, Sag Harbor

For dinner, we chose Lulu’s, where the vibe was effortlessly cool, and the food was even better. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, this trendy spot, conveniently located in the heart of town, is sure to impress.

Our time in Sag Harbor was the perfect getaway. From the picturesque marina walks to the great shopping experiences, and from the exquisite dining at renowned spots like Le Bilboquet and Lulu’s to the serene ambiance of Baron’s Cove, every moment was filled with fun and discovery. Sag Harbor truly offers something special for everyone, blending rich history with modern charm. Whether you’re looking to unwind by the water, indulge in gourmet meals, or explore unique boutiques, this enchanting town is the perfect summer escape. We can’t wait to return and create more great memories.
