The Party Look

New Year's Eve is almost here and whether or not you have big plans for the evening, you may be thinking about what to wear while ringing in the New Year with family and friends. This occasion often conjures up thoughts of sparkly outfits and fancy frocks.

There are certainly plenty of options to choose from, but when deciding what to wear try to include items that match your style and personality.

These pieces are great to have in your wardrobe for any time of year, but will definitely have you ringing in the New Year in style. Here are a few of my favorite looks to consider and some that I hope will inspire you to shine!

The Sequin Dress

For the ultimate night out, there's nothing more exciting than wearing a gorgeous sequin dress like this one from Khaite. And it doesn't have to be confined to a New Year's eve celebration. It works just as well for any black tie event, a wedding or a special birthday party. Keep it simple with strappy black sandals, a great statement clutch, simple accessories and a blazer with satin lapel.

The Sequin Suit

You may also consider a sequin suit that's fun and easy to wear, with just a camisole and a great pair of shoes. The look is chic and fun while being comfortable as the pants fit like a trouser without any spandex involved. You can certainly wear the sequin blazer with a pair of jeans or wear the sequin pants with a great top or sweater. Best of all the sequin blazer and pants are from Zara and won't break the bank.

The Sequin Top

Perhaps a sequin suit is too much? Consider a bit of sparkle with just a sequin top paired with a great flair leg pant like the one below from Norma Kamali. Chic and comfortable. I love to balance the wide-leg trouser with a more fitted top and a great platform. The faux fur jacket adds richness to the outfit. And you can most definitely wear the previous blazer on its own or the pants with a great top or sweater.

The Sparkle Accessories

Sometimes a bit of sparkle goes a long way. You can easily add a "diamond" necklace, crystal earrings, a gold clutch or a gorgeous rhinestone shoe to any outfit and feel glamorous for the occasion. A little sparkle goes a long way!
